A Handbell Ringing Resource for Young People by Emily Birch.
Starting a handbell team can be a daunting process…
When Emily started a kids handbell group with a single octave of bells, she struggled to find suitable music—so she wrote and arranged some pieces especially for them. Ranging from very, very easy to more accomplished pieces still suitable for beginners, all the pieces use one octave of bells, chimes or Belleplates from C to C with extra sharps and flats depending on the key.
Throughout the book ringers are gradually introduced to new symbols and techniques commonly found in handbell music and it is hoped that this will give them a sound basis for many years of ringing.
At the back of the book we have included details about the HRGB Crescendo scheme. This allows ringers to mark off their achievements and work toward a series of Certificates, each of which can be accompanied by a lapel badge.
